Messages From the Universe

In the past couple of weeks I have saved 2 turtles. Both were in the middle of the road so I stopped my car, put on my hazards, picked them up and put them in the grass. The second one was a pretty hairy rescue! I don't really know that much about turtles and which ones might bite. This guy looked strange to me! I picked him up near the back so that if he tried to bite me, my hands would be farther away. This was a rascally fellow! He jumped out of my hands and scurried further into the road. Cars stopped and probably wondered who the crazy lady was chasing a turtle around! It took about 3 times until I was able to carry him into the grass to safety, laughing the entire time! I went home and searched out what kind of turtle he was- a Florida Softshell.

This is not the actual turtle but the same type.

Any who- I thought to myself the other day- is the Universe sending me messages through these critters? What is the meaning of turtles? So, I did a little research. I found a pretty interesting site called- What's Your Sign. It has all kinds of interesting information on animal symbolism and totem animals.
Turtles are a powerful symbol of protection, order, creation, patience, strength, stability and endurance. I believe the Universe is sending me a message that I am not in a race. My creative endeavors must be met with patience and persistence. No matter how slow I move, I am still getting somewhere. Patience is the key!
Do you have any animals in nature that seem to be crossing your path? Maybe the Universe is sending you a message!

Dear Universe, I didn't mean to send you mixed signals!

Today was the first day of a an amazing e-course I decided to take.


Kelly Rae has proposed some interesting questions and ideas that have really made me think. I have known for a long time that I want to be the owner of my own business, that has always been a given in my mind. It has only been over the past year or so that I have decided that it will be a creative business- making money from my art. This is my passion.
However, I don't think I have been very clear to the Universe as to what it is EXACTLY,that I want and what I am striving to create. The Universe is willing to give you what you want if you are clear and put the energy behind it. I think that I have been, well, WISHY WASHY! ( That is a technical term you know!!)Time to get serious and concrete on paper and in my head and heart and send it out!
Watch out for it Universe- you have a big ole' message comin' from me!!!

Change is a comin'

Yesterday we went to sign Willow up for VPK. (Voluntary Pre Kindergarten) I am beginning to learn more about our school systems and districts here and it is interesting. I found out that we live in the "red" zone. Therefore there is no funding for the public schools here for the vpk program. So we had to find a private provider for Pre- K, such as a church, daycare or learning center. We did not want her going to a church school because we do not want other people teaching her about religion or spirituality. After driving around we found the perfect place! We were able to meet the teacher and she was sweet and awesome and Willow loved her too.
So in September begins a new phase in our life! I am a little nervous, not about leaving her somewhere because I felt really good about this place, but because it is a big change in routine for me. I have never been very good with change but have been working on that over the last couple of years. Now the Universe has given me a new challenge so that I may learn to accept and roll with change even better! Thanks Universe for the new opportunities you send my way so that I may change, grow and become a better person!

Vision/ Positivity Board

I have this bulletin board hanging in front of my computer. I used to hang all our bills on it to remember when to pay them. I decided that was not a very good idea- it was sending bad energy out into the Universe! I put all the bills in another place and now I would like to turn this into my Vision/Positivity board. Right now there are a couple of Willow's drawings on it and some phrases. One says- I will not compare myself to others and the other one, Don't be so hard on yourself. I also have the Serenity Prayer. I am going to fill it with things that I would like to see materialize in my life as well as some more reaffirming phrases.
Any ideas of some great phrases, sayings or quotations?
