Wisdom From Wren

The other morning the girls were getting ready for school and I went in their room to make sure they were staying on task. Wren, my 4 year old, was looking out the window. She turned around and said, "Mommy, this is going to be the best day!" Why is that I replied. "Because, I just saw 3 birds and a squirrel" she said with a big ole smile. I thought to myself, wow, how true. Everyday should be greeted this way, with appreciation, joy and the affirmation that it will be a great day! Every time I see birds and squirrels now I think of that morning and how we can create our own "Great Day"

On the way to school I snapped these great cloud photos. (of course, while I was at stoplights!!!)

Until next time, Create your own great day by appreciating all that surrounds you!

Do Your Thing... Whatever it is!!!!

I was driving in my truck today when I heard this super funky song on the radio. It just made me feel good all over! It said, "Get on the floor and do your thing whatever it is". I thought- I want this to be my motto in life. Get out there and do my thing whatever it is and be freakin' happy about it. No worries mon! While at a stop light I wrote those words down and when I got home I googled it! (I love google!) I found out it was by Charles Wright and the Watts 103 st Rhythm Band. Went over to You Tube and here ya go!!! Until next time, get on the floor and do your thing... whatever it is!!!!

Vision/ Positivity Board

I have this bulletin board hanging in front of my computer. I used to hang all our bills on it to remember when to pay them. I decided that was not a very good idea- it was sending bad energy out into the Universe! I put all the bills in another place and now I would like to turn this into my Vision/Positivity board. Right now there are a couple of Willow's drawings on it and some phrases. One says- I will not compare myself to others and the other one, Don't be so hard on yourself. I also have the Serenity Prayer. I am going to fill it with things that I would like to see materialize in my life as well as some more reaffirming phrases.
Any ideas of some great phrases, sayings or quotations?
Until next time-

Doing "Nothing" is OK

As I sat down to write this blog, I was going to start with something like- I did not get everything accomplished that I wanted to today. Now, I see myself as a pretty positive person most of the time. Of course I have my pity pot moments but in general I am pretty positive. I decided that I need to focus on the things I did get done not on the things I didn't and I found it to be a pretty big list. It is amazing how if you change your view of things how much better you feel. I think I put way more pressure on myself to "Get things done" than I need. I have been clean and sober for a little over 3 1/2 years. Prior to that I was pretty much wasted for about 20 years. I think this is why I always feel I must do more or get more done. Sometimes I feel as if I need to make up for all that time. I am working on the fact that I don't always have to be "Doing"!!! Relaxing and putzing around the house is just as important as "Doing"
I would like to know who else feels the need to constantly "do" and why? Are you working on doing "Nothing" is ok?
Peace, Love and Light
