Belief Slays the Naysayer

My easel on the table because it takes up too much room when on the ground!
This week my husband surprised me with an easel which was super exciting. Then that feeling of excitement was hijacked by feelings of anxiety and inadequacy. That little naysayer in my head was telling me that only artists use easels- you just make stuff- you are not worthy of an easel.  I am taking a class right now with Kelly Rae Roberts called Flying Lessons and I decided to be bold and throw these feelings out there to see if others ever felt this way. I realized that all of have that pesky naysayers in our head trying to tell us we are not good enough, not pretty enough, not talented enough- all of these negatives. I came up with the conclusion that believing you are good enough, you are smart enough, you are talented enough is very powerful. BELIEF SLAYS THAT NAYSAYER! Kicks it to the curb where it belongs. As suggested by several of my classmates I decided that I needed to paint something and right away before that  little negator won!!!
What better thing to paint than the word BELIEVE.
What is your naysayer telling you?
What do you need to believe about yourself?
Feed your beliefs and not that wicked, sneaky little naysayer!!!!!!!

Until the next time- BELIEVE!

P.S. I am good enough for an easel! LOL

Bandit Artists

Who could possibly think that these 2 cuties would get into any type of trouble or mischief? Right?

Well, today my little Wren and Willow decided to "create" on their own without Mom's permission! Black paint all over the floor and scatterings of multi colored micro beads and flocking. Arrggg!!!! This was the creation that was made during the raiding of my supplies!
Not too shabby for a 2 and 3 year old with limited time before being discovered. I will also have to say that this piece of work has great texture! My floor is a whole other story!
Still working on getting those stains out! If this is the worst they ever do I am extremely lucky! I should also take this cue as a little hint that I should do some more art projects with them because after all, they just wanted to do what Mommy does!!! I suppose in some warped way I am a bit flattered, but not at all happy about this carpet!!!

Feels like things are finally paying off!

After months of complaining to myself and to anybody who will listen to me whine about how little time I have to get things accomplished- I finally feel as if things are starting to come together!. It is such a great feeling. My story is not unique, it belongs to all of us. Whether you are a SAHM, a working mom, a working woman- no matter what your situation in life I think we always have that sense that we don't have enough time to do the things we want to do. I have just continued to take baby steps towards my mini goals and am beginning to see it all come together. All these night that I feel as if I am getting nothing accomplished- But I am! I guess I want that instant gratification- I want it done and I want it done now!!! WHHAAAA!!!

Well, that's just not the way the world works and as much as I may want it now I am glad it doesn't work that way. What a great feeling when all of the baby steps start to add up and I look back and say "wow" I have come this far! Wooty Woot!!! My Art room is finally coming together, I am being more consistent on blogging and I am almost ready to open my Art Fire shop. I have been working on redesigning my blog page, with alot of help and pointers from Pixie Polly. She has a great blog that I love to read everyday and has been so kind to offer me help when I need it! Thanks so much Polly! In closing, I will work on enjoying the baby steps more because they do count! I will also stop being so hard on myself about trying to get everything done now! Tee Hee.

My new art table with the fab lamp my girlfriend gave me!

The art table I am getting in order.
